FLOYD'S LANDING TO NEELS LANDING @ 411

17-MILE EXCURSION

About This Float

This trip must be booked in advance, and must be started no later than 10AM.

This is a 17-mile river adventure that begins at Floyd's Landing. You will then paddle through Plantation Row, where several plantation homes once lined the river prior to the Civil War. The trip also takes you past Georgia Power Plant Bowen, one of the largest land owners in the country.

This river route is primarily rural and peaceful with some residential riverfront homes along the way. Once you are past the Euharlee Bridge, you begin what is one of the most scenic and popular 10 mile paddle in Bartow County. This entire paddle path crosses no less than eight Native American fish weirs and winds beneath riverside bluffs. One major highlight is a trek through a 0.2-mile infamous "rock garden" followed by a series of shoals leading up to the BIG Island Ford, this is the largest island on the lower Etowah and offers multiple opportunities to stop and play; this is a favorite paddle for families who have all day to spend having fun and making memories.
